A gig at Tokyo Tapas

Night life on Saturday night, I don't go out to the city. I just hung around locally.  Good thing is
Bondi Junction has a live jazz bar is called " Tokyo Tapas" .

A live jazz  played in a corner of the small venue is lively.  You directly catch the sound, the tone and
the feelings of the players.  Our table was just in front of the players .

First time to listen to Saxophonist Lorenzo was cool.  The pianist wanted to play " Spain" (by Chick Corea see blog on 11 Jun.) but Lorenzo didn't give  him a go!

Owned by Aussie hubby and Japanese wife and it is very cozy place to hung around.

Living in the eastern suburbs , we have a life

This reminded me of Arashiyama in Kyoto

We get used to the house or the flat if you live long enough, do you think is it true?
It could be, but how about surroundings?

I know everyone is not the same, so I just focus on my point of view.

I love cute things, things make me smile, fresh sea breeze, murmuring of green leaves, cafes ,unique
clothes shops, and St Vinnies(recycle, second-hand shop by Christian organisation ).

All in a walking distance is must.
I will show you more on my next blog.

Action on Clovelly Beach

Clovelly Beach is very unique. There is no beach at the ocean side because of the natural reef rock pool.
People love snorkelling or swimming and it is very safe to do.  There lives a legendary huge grouper (a fish) , whenever I spot him I feel lucky.
At the end of the rock pool , the sand beach stretches for families and kids.  Clovelly beach is next to Bronte beach and it is never over crowded.
This area has still so many good old style houses, yes houses with a garden, not forts with concrete walls.

One summer day Part 2

My twenty-four hours  is like  a...
Just one deep long breath of the earth.

At the very end of her one breath,
I hope she is ready for the next twenty four hours...

And ,
on and on..

One summer day Part 1

Rain cool cool in Sydney.
Mussy choppy surf at Brontama.
Battle with seaweed and rip.

Peaches, mangoes, figs are in season.
Stroll about through the small lane.

My day goes slow but
A week goes skipping away.

4days fasting has finished

I had finished 4 days fasting.  I feel my body is lighter and the toxins are removed from bloodstream and muscles. So after fasting I had a light meals. Hand-made tofu by Korean shop, this tofu is very tasty  itself  but I made Japanese style sauce which is  Japanese-basil, shallots, cucumber,  a bit of ginger and tamari soy sauce in a food processor. If you cannot get Japanese-basil ,you can replace with thai basil or coriander.

Roselle drink

I was given Dried Roselle from a friend whose husband is from Egypt.  Roselle is species of hibiscus native as.  Not only Egypt but also  China,Thailand,India,Central America and many countries in Africa use this plant for a health and a medical treatment.
Roselle tea is easy to make. Boil about 10min. with handful of flowers in a saucepan and 1lit. water. When the water gets the colour of cranberry juice, it is ready. Serve cold or hot.
It is not sweet at all so honey, sugar or syrup are good option to make taste sweet.  And also if you add
a few drops of lemon or lime juice, that would be nice, too.
Very high in VitaminC, lower the blood pressure and as you see the colour it is high in antioxidant.
It looks like Rosé
It can be cooked or flied after making tea

心 そこにあらず(Japanese translation :Mind wasn't there...at that moment

Mind wasn't there...at that moment..

South swell  and strong westerly wind are hitting at Bronte Beach, wow it is exciting for surfers.
On this swell surfers can have  much easier paddle jumping out off the rock, easy for a paddle but
it could be tricky, actually it is. If you miss the timing, you will be in trouble.

It is a moment for a high concentration but too much tension won't be any better.  I was bit nervous thinking too much of what if I fail... Took a deep breath..I will be o.k.
My feet stood on a wrong place, it was a 1/1000 sec. of a bad decision.  I slipped and fell .But I realised at that moment,my mind wasn't there. thinking of 5sec away forward. Good lesson.
