RANDWICK HORSE RACE COURSE

It is now  a trend to spend Saturday afternoon among people aged 20 to 30yo at Randwick horse race course.  Girls are dressing up with feathered hat, boys wear casual smart suites and ties.

Though today's race wasn't a big event, there are so many people having fun.

Entrance ticket cost $15, there are bars, food stands and of course bookmakers and electronic betting
divice.

I was in a corporate suite with people so we got free drink, snacks ( wow very nice food!!) & desserts.
Fun time and special experience it was!!

How was my betting??  Dont' ask me..... but good thing is I learnt  effective way of winning some money.

Today is the final day of this event.  I bet locals feel relieved after tonight.

I haven't walked through yet so I got up early and started heading to Tama before 6am.
Every local people think the same way, already quite numbers of people were there.

Food I have to have in Kuala Lumpur---Living food, Simple life, Secret recipe

I am fussy about food, yes that is true.  This time after every day Sri Lankan food, my head was thinking too much of Malaysian cuisine.

I took  a bus from the hotel in Ampang Point, i know the area and public transport very well ,
so without problem I straight went down to Living food.  Borneo Laksa, has sliced omelet and prawns, and specially Living food use brown rice vermacille and noodle like shredded carrot.  Wow, it is so tasty , clean taste.

Lui cha is my fav. food and Simple life located in Lot10.  It is very popular so there are no vacant table
around lunch time.

I always look for Durian cheese cake at Secret recipe, in July none of the stores had it.
This time I went to three secret recipe shops, and I found the cake at Great eastern  mall. Happy days!!

Ice kacan is traditional Malay dessert.  I was cruising around  new KL2 airport and popped into
Nyonya cafe to have ice kacan.

Kuala Lumpur train station

Saw  Petronas tower, the mosques,  skyscrapers,old  chinese style houses in KL? And British style
architecture??

KL station draw the attention immediately when you are in a train, this white colonial station
is currently used by KTM, and Eastern Orient Express has its journey through KL.

Last Sri Lanka dinner at Lavanga rersort , Hikkaduwa

The Arugam Bay season has finished.  Almost every Hikka crew returned to Hikka from Arugam.
I came to Hikka,too and the weather was still in heavy nonstop rain mode and onshore wind blowing.

But by now I guess the wether is slightly better and surfable on a main point.

The new hotel Lavanga was very quiet  and looked comfortable to have our last dinner in Lanka.

The price wasn't high and much the same as the other restaurant, yes of course because of the low season.

One serve of Rice and curry was plenty for two people, and very spicy hot.
Thank you Sri Lanka, it was very enjoyable time.

Sri Lanka baby point

Baby point is not as working as the last year because there has no enough sandbank.

But sometimes you can have fun on shore breaks or small long ride from the shallow reef.

Whiskey point today

South swell is still brings the waves, I heard that main point was the biggest in 2weeks.

Late morning the wind picked up, it got so windy.

jungle fever surfing team headed to Light house but it wasn't enough swell, so went to

Whiskey point. It was working 1-2.5 ft, plenty of fun waves.  The wave is mellow even there was 3ish ft 

at set waves.

I was happy to see everybody had good waves and enjoyed.

Surfing mini trip to Panagara, Sri Lanka

This is how we go to the points. By tuk tuk it is allowed to take 2 surfboards and 3 people.

These days you can hire tuk tuk about 500 Sri Lanka rupeer a day.

Fixed price to Pottuville point is 1,000 LKR, whiskey point 1,500 LKR ,  Panagara 2,500 LKR.

1 LKR = 0.9 AUD

Danny's Sri Lankan's Delicacies. Arugam Bay

Danny's only serves Organic Sri Lankan food as breakkie, lunch and dinner.

Because it is getting popular and well prepared home made cooking, you need to make a booking in advance.

Today we had a cooking lesson, cooked okra curry, dahl, coconut sambol, eggplant curry, and green vegetable leaf curry.  Coconut milk, onion, curry leaves , turmeric and 2 green chilies  are basic spices and depends on the vege or meat or fish, they use curry powder, garlic, ginger, fennel, mastard seed ,

dried red chillis.

Dom and I were so happy to have the curry.  Taste was thick and fresh , Dahl was nicely cooked, not too soft and not too hard.

They buy the organic food from the farmer 8km from Pottuville town.
