Menagawa surf got bigger. (女那川サーフィン)

Today the surf was affected by Typhoon 20th swell.

Menagawa got bigger in late morning, I like Menagawa situation because of the river.

We get cross to paddle out and in, the river water is cool and clean.

Hakodate surfing trip - Todohokke (椴法華) was good!

Autumn festival @Sapporo Oodori Park

A food festival from all over Hokkaido, it has started mid Sep. and open till 4th Oct.

I don't know how many stalls are set up in several blocks  of the entire park.

It just a few minutes walk from where we live, there is a cozy Italian restaurant.

We saw only one chef in the kitchen but we didn't wait for the serve too long. 

Taste is not bad at all, specially the roast black pork was so brilliant , pizza has good taste and pie base is not crispy one but is thin enough.

Looking for Typhoon 18th swell ーMonbetsu, Higashishizunai

Typhoon hit the south-east coast of Hokkaido so  I was expecting a reasonable left over swell.

But the strong gusty winds destroyed the wave condition, ummmmh.

Lumpy , bumpy ocean spread all over the coast.

Looking for a surf from Hamaatsuma to Tomikawa

Looking for uncrowded surf in a clean water continues driving down. Uncrowded but not breaking!!

Hamaatsuma Surfing

The best surfing spot close to Sapporo is Hamaatsuma.  Recently the council built the toilet with outside taps. (But no shower)

When I say the best, I am talking about the quality of the shape of the surf.

I don't paddled out into Hamaatsuma break even looking great.

Because this is one of the worst polluted surf point.   The colour of the ocean never be clear,

there is an oil related factory near-by, I got itchy eyes and skin problem years ago after surfing here.

Of course it is up to you to surf here or avoid.

Always super crowded, crazy...

Eating in Otaru

'Otaru city is now an international city to attract domestic and foreign tourists.

The last time when I visited Otaru was , ohhhhh 23year ago,  I guess.

I won't talk about the sightseeing in Otaru, some Otaru site tells you how to walk and what to see.

Anyway I show you here the foods we had today after surfing.

The most famous soft cream shop in Otaru for over 30years.  These vanilla soft creams are regular

size and ¥260, the shop has 4 different size. Regular size is the smallest.

Otaru is famous for Japanese-Chinese style special fried noodle. Jidaiya serves seafood(prawn &

Scalop) , for the taste , selection of the English mustard ,homemade special chili vinegar or

special homemade chili miso sauce. ¥850

Otaru beer was founded in1995. I bought few beers to take away.

FUGOPPE surfing and historical sites (フゴッペ サーフィンと史跡)

The first autumn surfing  was at Fugoppe, near Otaru.

When we paddled in, the wave was small but managed to surf but one hour later the wind picked up so strong.

The temperature was around 19.5c

There are historical sites around here, one is Fugoppe Cave and the other one is

Nishisakiyama stone circle.   In a cave they found approximately 800 engravings dated back to

1-5AD century.

Flying over Japan with Malaysia Airlines

Even after two recent accidents , I am still a big fun of Malaysia airlines.

One of the reason is the variety of the special meal request, and this time I noticed that they changed

to a new menu for all category. 

 

Asian vege.meal is now Nasi lemak,it is quit hot but much much better than Air Asia Nasi lemak.

Spring has come to Bronte

My super drink after surfing

Cold early morning surfing takes my energy out so much.

This is my super drink , it is more like a food than a drink.

Organic kale, organic broccoli , Banana, avocado, strawberry, lecithin, LSA meal,
organic spirulina powder, coconut water and water.

I don't add any sweetener , no honey, no syrup, no any sugar but it tastes fantastic.

And should not be too thick , otherwise it gets too heavy in a stomach.
