Sheep and Baa finally awake in Sri Lanka

In such a hot climate it is hard to be active for sheeps.

But they enjoyed being on the beach today.

Backpacker sheep's traveling started last year, definitely they need a backpack!

Rice and Curry Sri Lanka's National Dish

I am addicted to local curry shop. Yes it is hot and spicy.  It was kind of difficult to taste spicy food

but having home cooking curry every day made my tongue enjoy spicy curry.

Now I don't order rice and curry at tourist restaurants, they use too much coconut milk

and curry powder.

Even you go to the same eating place, they don't serve the same vegetables.

After Sri Lankan New Year

Hikkaduwa is quiet, many shops and restaurants shut for the season after New Year.
Only a few surfers in water, it still nice set waves are coming around,
I am riding 10year old my first surf board"bliss sticks" 5'10 narrow sticks,
Amazingly I can ride this board now ,making good bottom turn,too.

In Japan we used to play a New Year's game, lots of game are similar to what we have.

Kids organized for this day and they are so proud of making the day!! Beautiful kids.

Spanish Mackerel from Yuki-Maru fishing boat Sri Lanka

Yuki-Maru fishing boat came back from one month period of outer ocean fishing.

It wasn't a good result this time but they caught lots of Spanish mackerel which is worth for money.

We brought back and BBQd, yum, tasted so good!

Surf in Hikkaduwa in Apr.is still good. In the morning there are off shore winds, some good

set waves, my new fins drive wonderful.

Pastry and pie lovers keep coming into the door.

They have outside open tables and chairs but they are not covered with a roof.

You need to wait to get one of three inside tables if you want to eat in.

A spinach and mushroom Quish,  A chicken pie and a citrus tart are so delicious.

Coffee tastes real coffee, strong flavor goes well with a citrus tart.

2016 Australia Day

Vacanza @ Charing Cross

This Italian pizza restaurant is always busy on weekends.  Whenever I walk pass, two outsidea tables

are taken with a father and sons ( I don't know why but I see many of this family situation there ).

most of the time.  My eyes stick on the food if the pizza looks ok or not, and my thumb gets up.

I waited for a timing to eat in and finally I made it with my family.

The best sweets at my S"day

Looking for a quality taste sweets is not easy ,  I bought a whole round lime tart from Pattison's
for someone and they commented the tart was superb and super yummy.

As I haven't tasted the tart, it was a good opportunity to try out.

And I need ice cream, too.  Ohh, KOHU ROAD Ice Cream from New Zealand is the best!!!

No artificial preservatives, colours or emulsifiers , ingredients are milk, cream, sugar,egg yolk,

skim milk powder, vanilla pods, salt.

What a wonderful ice cream it is!

Special Day celebration @ East Ocean Restaurant

I had a company to celebrate once a day S'day celebration,  I couldn't decided where to go until the last minutes. Yeah I had a few suggestions but three of us agreed to have yum cha!!!

At 11:30, the restaurant was quite full,  East Ocean restaurant has more Asian originated customers than
Aussie Aussie.

Werri beach and Kiama

Our second day of South trip was at Werri beach, and stayed at a house just 5 min. walk from the beach.

I found the house rental through Airbnb to avoid to stay on a busy hassle scene.

BBQ on the back yard was terrific, buying the seafood ( black fish, NZ muscles and Salmon strips)
at fresh seafood and meat in Nowra.

We want something classic afternoon tea (even though it is influenced from England),

so we did go to Vaucluse house.

It is still nice sitting in quiet garden tea room having a time of devonshire tea.

Comprising tea taken with scones, cream & jam.... mmmh yummy and quite filling.....

Bronte New Year Swell 8 Jan. 5-6ft

South swell , Set waves hit Bronte pool so hard but it is the first warm day after 3days long rain.

Water temp. is 21C not bad.

My favourite Pancake at Eugene's

When oversea's tourists ask me about the world famous pancake at Bxxx's,  I always tell them that

" They don't know what the best means..."   The ricotta banana pancake I had in Bxxx's was the

worst one I ever had.

Organic buckwheat & butter milk pancake with strawberry compote, cinnamon ricotta & crushed pistachios at Eugene's in Waverley is my favourite.

It is so original and tastes so good and not heavy, not too sweet .

2016 New Year

Holiday time for kids and adults every year this time needles to say...

When most of the shopping centre close, where would you go??  Yeeees  to the beach!

Using Opal card is really works well to travel around specially if you understand the public transport
system.

360 to Clovelly beach,  380 to Watsons bay then taking the ferry from Watsons bay to

Cirqular Quay.
