Surfing at Kochi Pref. Oct 2015

2 nights 3 days sleeping in a van & BBQ dinner surf trip in Kochi Pref with friends.

I didn't have my own board so borrowed from Nori-kun, which was not the best thing to do
but I managed to have several good waves and lots of fun.

Water was warm, I would say it was warmer than Sydney's summer water.

DAY 1 :  SMALL POWERLESS WAVE at FUTAMI BEACH

DAY 2 : KARITSU SURF BEACH

DAY 3 :  Typhoo swell has got to the peak, NUNO beach was the only option to surf. Amazingly uncrowded

After day we went back to Shimanto, and this was a next day at KURE , on the way to Kochi city

Hakodate Area Sep Silver week Surfing trip

The last day of Sliver Week (long weekends), our dawn patrol started on Sumiyoshi Fishermens wharf.
It was a tiny break, too small to share the waves, so we moved on to Shikabe, which is one hour driving north-east.  Shikabe got a direct swell , swell size was good but was too straight and mushy and needed more tide.  We predicted that the best surfing time was around mid day.
So we drove back to Menagawa. There was fun size left breaks and sometimes sucky right breaks.

Yeah, surfed at Menagawa and on the way back to Sapporo , we checked Shikabe again.
Oh yeah!!! I haven't seen such a clean 2 -3ft breaks in Hokkaido.  No hesitation, we paddled out for fun.
