BONDI RESCUE !!!

Sunny and busy Bondi around 12:30pm.

Suddenly a frantic scream for help was in the air.

Everyone on the streets heard clearly, and we knew that someone was having trouble in the water.

Easterly wind picked up his help call as if he was on a microphone.

A few surfers rushed paddling towards him, at the same time someone quickly picked a life guard's
paddle board and went for a rescue. Lucky ..surf wasn't big...

Further out of the rescue scene, surf compo. was going on.  Unlucky for the surfers..i ft +..small surf..

Parsely Bay...a little wonder in Sydney eastern suburbs

Kookaburra stays still on a gum tree branch as if the time has been forgotten forever.

But I hear the leaves and the grasses murmuring without sound,

I feel the fertility of the earth and the ocean.

Wentworth Falls - Blue Mountains National Park

Winter is nearly over though the temperature was 0-14C.  The sun is warming up the trees, the plants
and the soils...

I had a pleasant and easy 2hours bush walk at Wentworth Falls looking over the valley and falls.

Spotting the swamp wallaby foot prints was the exciting though I didn't encounter with any wallabies.

Olympic Spirit

Ohhh Nooooooo, Australians haven't won any individual gold medal!!!!!

Monday, 30 July 2012

2012 London Olympic Game has started- Who is your olympic hero?

My current job is " Full time olympic watcher ".   Not only the sports Australians are shown on TV 1000 times of the same coverage but also the sports that are held on each single day.
As a Japanese, I am interested in Judo.  I open " Keyhole TV" and " Live sports online to enjoy the other sports coverage.

9 hours time difference puts me on a hard task...I set up alarm at 4:20am...
People might say " Why don't you record them and watch them later."
But for me a real time entertainment os essential.

There are several athletes who compete three successive olympics this time.
To achieve gold medals in two olympics is hard but many athletes have done.
But how about three gold medal ?  Or even 2 gold medals from first and second olympics and any medals from the third?  That means you must commit yourself on a high level for 12years.

Michael Phelps (USA), Kosuke Kitajima(JPN) and Stephanie Rice (AUS) couldn't make it.
Olympic Heros for myself mean not just because of medal achievement but also their personality.
I name Kieren Perkins and Alexander Popov.  They both competed at Barcelona(Gold), Atlanta(Gold) and Sydney(Silver) as a swimmer.

But don't miss out this Aussie girl, Leisel Jones ( breaststroke), she is in her 4th olympics at age of 26. Silver(2000), Silver(2004) and Gold(2008).
She is in 100m breaststroke final tonight.

A glimpse of Sydney from Sydney Tower

An average temperature these days in Sydney is 8C-17C.  It is pretty cold for us specially in the morning. I reluctant to walk outside in a cloudy and windy day.( Anyone does of course)

Sydney tower is a tallest tower in a southern hemisphere which stands 309m.   The world tallest tower i SKYTREE in Tokyo, which is 634m.   I didn't have a chance to go up to SKYTREE when I was in Tokyo this time.

Tower throw her appearance on near-by building

Hyde Park and St Mary Cathedral

Darling Harbour,The star (Casino) and Anzac bridge
Good thing about Sydney tower is that height, comfortably you can spot the places such as the airport, Opera house,Harbour Bridge, Heritage buildings,  Coves, Parks , even Blue mountains.

You see few of Sydney here, and if you want to see more, you can fly into Sydney and have a look around by yourself.  Tower never goes away!!

Sydney beach this week a la carte

A rage of the ocean left the souvenir on Bronte beach this week.  It is unusual to see blue bottles in a winter time, because they are drifted by a warm current, but that means the water temperature is not that bad. Seaweed jut look like the beads of buddhist rosary are washed away and left in a rain.

I never forget good foods even in rainy days.  Sitting outside Specc cafe with a heater,  a vegetable wrap  with sweet potato chips and flat white satisfied our afternoon.

On sunday finally we had a beautiful blue sky. Amazingly size picked up surf  and people cheering up eating, walking and just sitting , cafe along beach were full of people, yes certainly it was a beautiful
sunday.

Bronte surf after monster wave

2 days after huge south-east swell, the size got smaller and eased.  Though the cold southerly winds
eat your head ( I have lots of hair but still.. sorry for bold head guys) and fingers .

Now at 1pm, outside temperature is 16.4C

Part eclipse

Full moon night.
Does full moon give you a positive affection or negative?
Her power is so strong, if I have a moonbathe  for a certain amount of time, she will control over me but otherwise she is  very cool.

Last night a part of the moon was missing, there were no cloud, the moon phase was pretty much in full.

Part  eclipse, I recon.

This weekends in Melbourne

Am I insane to spend just one night in Melbourne??  What for???

When I knew Hiromi Uehara(A Japanese jazz pianist) was coming to Melbourne for Mel. international
jazz festival about 2 weeks ago,  I immediately purchased a ticket.  No hesitation.
Her schedule in Australia was only in Melbourne, not in Sydney so I have to fly toMelbourne. No hesitation.  Video above was in Feb. 2012 at Tokyou Jazz festival

She released her first album at 23y.o. and she has been hot for 10 years.
Her joyful energy is so powerful , and she is an amazing player, great composer and she quotes her   emotion into improvisation.

Anything else in Melbourne...?!? I googled " raw food restaurants"  and found very popular place is called Yong Green Food.  I determined to check it out.

Near Southern Cross station I took 112 tram to the centre of Brunswick St.where Yong Green Food was.
My choice was Rawsagna, which meant raw food version of Lasagne, and it was divine.

Brunswick has funky cafes, shops and graffiti on most of the walls, very cool...

At night after the concert, I cruised into Crown Casino at Southbank.
Saturday night, so you can imagine it would  be a place to be but it was beyond my imagination.
People, people more people , flood of people inside the huge complex were having dinner, throwing money on betting tables, that was incredible.
